Here is my thinking on turkey loads....THEY HURT! I prefer a gas gun for harvesting gobblers as they tend to tame some of the recoil more than a pump or break action. You can get barrels for either set up in just about any length you want from 27" to 32". Extra length really does not give you any advantage in a turkey gun. You are sighting on a single bead most of the time so the sight picture stays the same. You usually are not swinging, so the added weight on the end that aids in follow through is not a factor. What it comes down to, though, is what you like. The hunt is all about you, what you enjoy and what will harvest the gobbler in a most humane manner.
