I'm an Oakley fanatic. But I'll also say that I don't know what Oakley will do against a $25 pair you can pick up at any gun shop if it had to face a fired bullet. What I do know is that paying a visit to the Oakley headquarters in Foothill Ranch will show you just how much time, effort and money they spend in engineering (over engineering actually) their eyewear.

My vision is very important to me. What will happen if a day comes where my eyewear has to take a bullet? Well, I hope I never find out. But if there comes a time when I have to find out, I'd rather know that I took every reasonable precaution I could have taken to protect myself.

And remember, none of these are meant to take a bullet. Lead backsplash from targets, debris kicked up from the ground, bits of powder most of the time, but NONE of them are going to stop bullets.
