I was wondering if anyone had tips on how to obtain a concealed carry permit in Linn County. Somehow the same piece of crap Democrat anti-gun sheriff got elected once again for 4 more years. On their website they love to point out that permits are not issued for personal protection (as money is apparently more important than life to him) and I'm not exactly a diamond dealer. Witnessing a robbery the other night right in front of me and having nothing available to protect myself re-affirmed my wanting of a permit as soon as possible.

Live long, and prosper,,, as you would hear on star trek....... The key is LIVE...... linn county is not far from Newton where I was raised,,,, but I am now in Kansas, and our governor thinks we should not have weapons. On the bright side, not many civilians ever have to defend themselves, on the dark side, if you do, and are successful there should not be very many "conflicting viewpoints"? on what happened.

Live through it, and ****,,, it will reduce your lawyers problems.

I'm a tad confused as to what that post meant, but I think the gist of it was to carry even without a permit. I'm more looking for legal suggestions on ways that will increase my chances of an approval, eg. I've heard large sums of money being stated as the reason may help, would stating the reason as a gunsmith and potential robbery of multiple firearms when transporting or at home be a valid reason?
