I think I'm going to go nuts. I purchased 1000 pieces of the Guat 5.56 brass from wideners and after checking every piece with a Lyman case gauge I set about to Hand priming it all.
so I get a box of CCI #41's from the stash and go to work on them.
I work myself through all 10 sleeves and when I am done I still have 3 primers
left over. WTH? knowing the only way to find the reason is to start counting ,
I got 20 50rd foam trays and started loading the 1k of primed brass into them,
to discover about 20 minutes later that yup I got shorted 3 pieces of brass.
I sent wideners an email begging for the last 3 pieces and hope for a reply later today. I need all 1k or my brain will expode:what::banghead:
the fruits of my labor.

Let me wash my hands 7 or eight times and think about it.;)

If I didnt have to go count my 100,000 pieces of .45 acp brass and sort them by weight I would have time to answer your question, after I wash my hands a few more times.;)

just a little bit. and since your at OSAN
go downtown and knock off a bowl of jungle juice for me. and say Hi to Mr Lee.

Everyone that reloads is a bit OCD, I wasn't knocking ya. I've had my fair share of brass weighing sessions, or multi-hour die adjustments.

Mr. Lee? There are like 500 Mr. Lees around here. LOL. The jungle juice, on the other hand, sounds like a good idea.

OCD and handloading

I'm not OCD, but I pay attention to the voices in my head.:neener: Having things "come out even" is good karma. It can help you spot mistakes.

Ya'll are all nuttier than a squirrel turd.
Now where in the H*** did that last piece of .41 brass go? I can't have an empty space in the ammo box.....:cuss:

Ain't this fun Walkalong...???

"squirrel turd" ?? I ain't never had a "squirrel turd"...They really taste like nuts???

I TOLD YOU I WAS O K!!! Now stop askin'!!

I always keep a small bin of banishment with "extra brass" that has about 20 peices of unloaded brass in each caliber to replace F---ups or to round out even lots. I used to have to drive to Gander Mountain an hour away to get a single 100ct bag of new brass, but then I was stll a few short for the next hundred (of cartridges I probably wasn't going to shoot for months) so enter the bin-o-banishment, it is a type of limbo where brass no longer exists in this world, but can be summoned if needed. Just make sure you wash your hands before the summoning ceremony, and say exactly 100 times : "I will not keep repeating the same habits over and over again"

wideners is saving the Day ! my 3 pieces of brass are enroute. I can now sleep.

maybe.

Calm down man! I'll send you a couple cases to make up the difference.:) Maybe a couple extra to get you to start fretting the other way.:D

You line up the headstamps all the same, too?

(Though, I do confess to working pretty hard until I tracked down that last piece of (reloadable) 7.62x54 brass that I knew I had shot, but the count was off. Autoloader handgun brass I can live with loosing a certain percentage of, but that particular rifle brass (unlike your .223:p) was expensive and somewhat hard to find.)

Reloading is a serious hobby, mistakes can be big trouble. So when things aren't just right this can cause distress. But don't sweat the small stuff things could be way worse like the wrong primer, powder or bullet. When loading high volume keep your focus and don't "sweat the small stuff" this reminds me of the time I spent a 1/2 hour looking for a stray 9x18 piece of brass  I suspect a lowly varmint snagged it :scrutiny: I need to stop sharing my lunch with these critters, after awhile they think anything is fare game

Good criminy...go to the range, and next time you shoot, pick up 3 extra pieces of Guat brass. Its so common you'd think they plant it there at the range.
