Anybody here have the olive drab versions of the Glock and XD pistols? I really like the looks of both of these. I have looked at the Sigma in OD, but it doesn't look as nice as the Glock and XD.

As most of you know, I am STILL LOOKING for a carry gun. I just happen to see these colors while doing more research.

By the way, I have wanted a Glock for a long time, but always talk myself out of it. But, I think that one reason I haven't decided on a gun yet is because that G19 keeps calling my name no matter how hard I try to think about other pistols.

They look cool and everything, but the only thing that would prevent me from buying one is how they would look while wearing dress clothes or a uniform (non-camo/non-military BDU) and the gun exposed. I think black just looks dressier. However, if you plan to be using the gun in wooded terrain, the OD would look excellent, just a matter of personal preference when it comes down to it.

I just figured out why I don't like the looks of the OD Sigma's. They have a stainless slide. To me, that is very ugly.

I did see a Desert Storm Glock today. It was in desert camo and was about 600.00.

Doesn't Glock also make one in Tan?

I was kinda leary about the OD green G19 I bought. Now, I guess it has grown on my because I really like it...don't care what anybody says! :neener:

My OD G19 seems easier to clean the frame because the dust and dirt is easier to see than on a black frame.

I've got an OD XD .45 GAP 5". Boring little gun. Pull the trigger, it goes bang every time.

If you're choosing between the XD and the Glock then it's going to come down to two things. Price and fit. The XD's are cheaper and most people say they fit their hand better than the Glock. Go pick each one up and play with it.

The one thing I will give the XD is that every caliber and every model have a fully supported barrel. That's about the only thing they have over the Glock in my opinion (and why I chose the XD over the Glock). Everywhere else they are pretty much even.

Does anyone think that Glock, and or SA will add other colors to their line-ups?

No. I don't think anyone will really make that leap on "over the counter" guns. Some may do it with custom orders for extravagant amounts of money. It's bad enough trying to keep a straight face when the guys show up at the range with goofy colored ARs...

Have an OD G19, like another poster said it is easier to see where the dirt is. It is different than everyone else's Glock. While I doubt it is very likely, but a possibility, if someone did manage to see the grip, they would see OD and maybe not think it is a firearm...or it can blend in better with my outfits, kinda like camo.

It would be neat to have a red one! Crimson to be exact! Roll Tide!!!:D

I just picked up a OD green XD9 last night. :D Have not shot it yet, but I don't think the color will help my aim ;)

I would be right behind bama61 for a
red Glock or XD. ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!

BTW i had a XD-9 woth a od green
frame/black slide,i thought it
looked better than the glocks.

I would also like to see a Glock19 with a dark gray frame. An urban camoflauge version of the OD Green version which I have.

Saw the OD Glocks at a show. My first response was, "How can you make an ugly gun uglier?" Big Glock fan, however, so the OD finally ate at my mind enough that I bought a G17 in OD Green. Cool gun. :D

Maybe I should get a Bulldawg Red finish put over the black finish on my Glock 22 slide. Its already got the black frame -- perfect UGA pistol. Though I do think a black slide & red frame would look better.

GO DAWGS!!!

They look like they're made out of baby poop.

However I can understand wanting something different, but I'll stick to the black ones.

I can't imagine them having any appeal in the LE market either. A green gun just doesn't look professional unless your uniform and other gear was also green.

I'll have to agree with Euclidean...It's a gawd-awful color, IMO.
