Colt series 80 Combat Commander. I notice that on the outside of the barrel ,rather than uniform wear, the wear looks to be ,for better description a "chattering " type wear. Faulty bushing?

Without a photo we are all just guessing. As a general rule wear makes things uneven.

Utterly common on some guns like Sig Sauer where the wear bands are called smileys.

I have seen them to a lesser extent on Colts.

After Looking at the bore, I think wear is the culprit. I see slight abrasion marks on the lands .& grooves. I also noted that the some of the rounds were key holing the target . These were 230 grain jacketed , flat nose bullets (I guess that`s the proper description).
