It's not nearly as bad as the 1911 or the Beretta - but man! This is pure Hi Power molestation!

Why do you find such things?
Funny how people find a way to make a classy gun look so cheap.

The renaissence brownings are too ornate for me but about 30 years ago I saw a matched pair of HPs with gold inlay like they did at that time on the medallist. I came very close to buying them.

I'm kind of with you on that Renaissance Argent Preacherman. It's got some class. Why should engraving be limited to upper scale two barrel shotguns?

Okay the gold is a bit much. But I believe that I have that reaction because certain socio-economic groups have made gold plating look cheap. You know gold plated hubcaps, windsheild wipers, gratuitous use of gold jewelry. Gold front tooth, etc. You get the idea.

Golly with this crowd better not post a FS thread on the Browning custom shop high powers (yes plural) I ordered at the Shot Show....

"You've never seen a Renaissance Grade Browning huh?" Ain't the same thing. That first one would be ok without the gold though. I almost bought a set of real ivory grips for my HP while in the Queen's Service. Didn't have the money and they would have been illegal to import. Still, ivory on black phosphate would have been nice.
And please, everybody, reduce the size of the pictures you post. A guy on a dial up would take 20 minutes to open this post.
