I got word today from Ms. Jennifer Koperdak, my local rep's assistant, that the previous gun bill I had developed has finally passed the senate last night. This was the old HB450. I started working on this bill back roughly in february 2007. It has been changed a little bit from how I wrote it out to be, but the fundemental point is still there. here is the bill as it was, note that it has been slightly modified but generally the same.

It was passed unanimously at roughly 1am this morning. I was told that the NRA attacked it for increasing some kind of fee slightly. Im not sure what that is about, but if i just raised prices on CCW permits Im really sorry:confused: . Anyway hopefully this will be a trend across the nation now, and we can start getting a little more agressive as time goes by. As people always say " our 18 year old soldiers can fight and die for us, but they cant drink or own a handgun " Well Im proud to have my part in crushing at least half of that complaint. Anybody know how to get your Name on these bills as a nickname bill :neener: that would actually be pretty cool. my local paper caught wind of what I did (thanks dad) and are doing a story about it tomorrow. Im just glad i had the chance to actually make a difference in the state, and hopefully the nation. Thank you all for supporting our rights too.

Regards, Scott Gerken

Hmmmm........shouldn't you know what you are signing?

There are very few people that will be affected by the change of 18-21yr old military being able to buy a handgun.

There will be many affected by the $3-$5 increase on ccw licensee's PLUS you just singed into law an addition $15 fee on an emergency ccw license, I wouldn't be standing in line to get my name on this disaster.

yeah maybe it was a bad idea, maybe i should just let our men and women serving this country be screwed like the rest of us. I cant help what law makers do. it was not MY intetion to increase fees, if that even happened. but I can see that you would rather save $5 rather than give our troops the rights they absolutly deserve. $5, thats pretty pathetic if you ask me. that makes me weary of your stance in my country. hopefully it is just an uneasy feeling and not how you really feel.

You aren't even old enough to have a ccw......I assume your not military.......and you couldn't buy ammo if you were.

Nice job. "You can buy a gun, but no ammo".

well at least I tried something. What have you done? i think you are Mr. keyboared comando. thats how you sound. judging me becaus eim not old enough to have a ccw, because im not military, guess what bud, ill be enlisting in june after school. I try to do something right and get attacked as always. well at least i did something and didnt sit on my ass like a pansie

I have been reading some of your other posts, that was a big waste of my time. "I have carried openly a couple times....." "I have only carried openly once.....".

Like I said earlier, passing this bill will not affect many people ages 18-21. It will affect MANY more negatively with the passing of the additional fees.

$5?? Did you miss the $15 fee for emergency licenses?

Do you know that if the state takes more than 45 days to issue a ccw they must issue an emergency permit?

Basically, if the state takes 45 days they get another $15 per person. You just eliminated the urgency of issuing a license, thanks.

How many people do you think will benefit from this? How many people will it hurt? Do the math, genius!

There is one good thing: You'll be a good politician when you GROW UP.

And BTW, I do my part.
I am a ccw holder, lifetime NRA member, OGCA member, TSGC member, OhioCCW.org site supporter. I have donated to multiple youth programs on firearms safety.....why am I wasting time explaining.

Are you a member of any local organizations? Have you donated anything?
Doubtful, but you will be the first to stand in line to make lawful owners pay more, huh?

As i said, I wrote nothing in there dealing with fee's. my whole part was to just give our troops the ability to own and carry a handgun. does that sound like a bad idea to you???

I can't help that the pos politicians screwed it all up. so quit blaming me. you blaming me is like blaming the gun manufacturer for the criminal mis-using a weapon. What I wrote could hurt no one, blame your reps.

And yes I am an NRA member too. do you need proof

you really are pathetic. Oh no we are gonna have to pay $5 extra every 5 years. Would you not pay $500 for our troops??? you are so eager to express your donations to the NRA and local clubs, but god forbid you donate $5 extra to give our troops what they deserve. who really cares about $5. aparently you dont support the very people who give you every last freedom we have. and to compare me to Clinton or Obama, you would crindge at the things that would happen had that been said to my face. Im trying to be respectful here but you are making it hard for me. I am an NRA member tried and true. You make your self out to be and NRA card holding commie :cuss:

you would crindge at the things that would happen had that been said to my face.

First of all, the word is "cringe", not "crindge".

No I would either be A: going to jail, or B: going home after kicking some ass

Secondly, I would strongly suggest that you correct that attitude with the quickness, lest you not last on THR very long. We're not here for pissing contests, and certainly not here to see who can kick who's ass. Leave it at the door or find somewhere else to hang your hat, if you please.
