I am not against the idea of arming teachers. But I am totally against adding "armed personnel" to the schools.

The response to the VT shooting has been ridiculous. Despite what happened, our schools are very safe. Implementing more security in our schools is completely unnecessary.

Strikland may go for it. He's a pro-gun guvna, he encouraged the fixing of the CCL law (which killed all local laws at that point) while he was running, while the suckiest governor Bob Taft VETOED a bill a Democrat said he would have signed. We have a few RINOs in OH, although I think all Repubs had had it with Taft.

Jones admitted his plan would likely be expensive and would not prevent school shootings, but he said armed personnel would limit the number of casualties in such an event.

"The safety of all Ohio students is paramount," Jones said. "These students are our children; they are our future. We must do anything we can to protect them as much as possible."

Well, it is a step in the right direction, however uniformed armed personal on campus on all times is nt something new we always seemed to have a cop on campus at my school. However armed teachers and armed administrators is a great idea, along with some student training.

According to my CCW instructor, who is the Local PD SWAT team leader/Trainer, most schools in our area already have armed teachers/administrators who's job it is to shoot little johnny dead if he tries to pull a Colombine/VT Tech scenario, and I'm happy about it :)
