I know this may sound odd as we generally talk about the next gun we are going to get or one we need for something or other but I truly think I have all I need.

Being a shotgunner I have guns for sporting clays, trap and skeet. I've got a good ole 870 for HD. I've got a nice collection of Winchester M12s just because, including a nice little M42. I also have rifles in calibers I need for varmints and the hunting I do.

Not to say that if I was at a gun show and another old M12 just happened to follow me home I wouldn't be happy but right now I just have no need for anything else. Anyone else actually think they might have reached the end of their search for all of the guns they need?

Just about, a Marlin 1894C and a Marlin 39M that takes care of most of my Rifle needs, with a Win Compact Classic in 7mm-08 to fill the rest, and a few 357s and a Colt Woodsman and a S&W 35 for 22lr handguns with a 1911 and a Glock 19 to fill handguns out and a Win 1300 for shotgunning.

Not most but very adequate.

Solid, decently accurate rifle? Check.
Reliable, accurate, reasonably-powered pistol? Yup.
Honest, well-handling shotgun? Uh-huh.

Yup, I've got all the guns I need.

All the guns I want, now there's a different story.;)

Actually, I'm at the point where I'm selling, not buying (unless some absolute screaming deal comes along). I've got way more that I haven't shot in the last few years than ones I have shot.

AR15,RomAK,Sig9mm, Sig.45, Winchester 1894, Remington870 & Mossberg500, Ruger10/22, random other handguns I am not as fond of ...

I want a Thompson Gun. I want an M1carbine. I want an ACOG. I want a better reloading press & bench. I want a good scout scope for the Winchester.
I want Katherine Zeta Jones. ....

But yeah. I have plenty of guns. In all honesty I would be satisfied with just the Bushmaster & the Sig228. Now I want a free life so I can shoot every day instead of every week. ...

there have been 2 previous occasions when i thought i was done buying guns. obviously, i wasn't done then, i'm not done now, and there's no sense in kidding myself about it.

I'm in the same boat.

2 evil assault rifles.
30-06 for big game hunting
22-250 for varmint
Ruger 10/22 for small game
3 each 12 guages for birds
44 Mag for handgun hunting
10MM for a woods gun
.45 ACP for CCW

Yea, I really don't need any more guns. But I want a hell of alot more.:)

I will never be done. I thought I was, but now I find that I like to buy, tinker, sell-off what I do not want or need and buy some more. Not too much, just one or two a year. Keeps me interested. I figure I can't switch my wife out for a new one, so guns are the next best thing:neener:

So long as you know how many guns you have you do not have enough.

When you begin to loose count then you have enough.

If I Had To Stop Here

If there was no possibility of adding more, I suppose I couldn't cry . . . too much.

I have something for personal defense, home defense, community defense, target practice, generic plinking, and hunting up to and including elk and moose.

But . . . there has to be a BUT . . .

I have grandkids who will be old enough to shoot in a few years, and I don't have their heirlooms yet.

I don't have a single-action revolver.
I don't have a lever-action .22 rifle.
I don't have anything in .177 HMR.
I don't have anything in .22 Mag.
I don't have a .308 or .30-06 rifle.
I don't have any kind of shotgun.
I don't have a 1911-style pistol.
I don't have anythng in 45 ACP.
I don't have any kind of EBR.

Yeah, I see you all rolling your eyes. Clearly, I'm not anywhere near done.

I'm nowhere near done. My collection is in its infancy. Next up is probably a Mossberg 500 or Remington 870.

I lost count some time ago. Hasn't slowed me down any. :D

well having enough and living to excess are two different things :D

Nothing wrong with living to excess in certian areas either :neener:

I am still building up my collection.

While I am not a connasuer like some, and I really do not care for handguns, I would like to get at least one more rifle.

I have a 10/22, a 30-06, and an 870 for farm use. I would like to get a 30-30 eventually.

Yes, wanting and needing are two different things but I find that the more I have the less time I have to spend with each one.:uhoh: I like each of my guns and I like to shoot all of them. When I get a new one that means another one gets less attention! They all want equal time;)

OK, I've got enough guns

I'm trying right now to practice saying that with a straight face or without a telltale twitch of my body that means I'm lying.

And...I can't do it!

:banghead:

I am passed this point, but there is always another that I want to fill a niche. I still end up getting another one or two a year, saying it will be for my kids, and eventually it will be. I have a few spots in my collection that need completed, but I am to the point that I pick and choose, I don't make spur of the moment purchases. If a smoking deal comes along, I usually have the funds to get it and either add it to the collection or pass it on along for a deserving individual not as fortunate as myself.

And yes, want and need are two entirely different things, but seeing as I have no other hobbies, guns and shooting have rarely let me down.
