OK. Picked up some new 44 Magnum Compenents. Whatcha think?

200 - 270 grain Speer Gold Dot Soft Points - $22 for the lot
1# 2400 $20 for the lbs.

Now I have some 300 CCI primers, and 1 shot Magnum brass. Looking to give these hefty suckers a go.
Aliant has data for the HP Gold Dot, but not the SP. Here is the Aliant data:
44 Rem Magnum 270 gr Speer GDHP 1.585 8.3 CCI 300 2400 17.5gr 1,182fps

Should I use this data for the SP as well?

I found a site that shows data for 275 gr JSP with 17.5 gr 2400 for 1,273 FPS and 36,000 CUP. Not sure of barrel length or credibility of the source though.

Without published data to go off of, I'd start at 16.0 gr and work my way up a half grain at a time, looking for caution signs as I go.
