It's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.

You could leave some 2009 Corvette brochures lying around and mention that you were thinking about picking one up. When you tell her that you are changing your mind and you are just going to get another gun, she'll be relieved.

Couple years back when my 1911 inventory doubled (1 to 2) I did the, "Hun, I found my birthday-anniversary-christmas present!!!!"

Next thing ya know I was looking at rings in the diamond store...........

I've done the, "I'm cleaning it for XXXXX, I'm still cleaning that one......"

Several have not been acounted for, even though the number goes up every now and then............... "I don't know how many I have."

Now it's just take a empty case to the store and a full one home!!!!!!!!!!!

Albrain- funny?? Hell this is what keeps us sleeping with one eye open, if we can sleep at all:evil:

Get as many as you can...

...so she doesn't notice when there's a new one. I just add a new one to the collection and she (like others have said) thinks they all look the same so I am in the clear. Two words of advice from my two uncles:

1) Just get so many guns that she couldn't even tell if there was another one!

2) Never teach your wife to shoot.

So she's gonna hit the roof and yell? Is that all? You seem pretty dammned lucky if you ask me.

If my wife sees any new gun, she knows she sees a new gun!

The next thing I don't want to hear is "When do 'we' go try it!" That is very bad news, because it means she likes it already, and if she can shoot it better than I can, it's HER'S!

Have you any idea what the cost of ammo is, and I have to get it and feed HER HABITS. If then I want a gun like the one I just bought I have to go get another one...

You and guys like you with wifes who can't tell one gun from a BB gun have it made if you ask me...

With a wife like mine you can't exactly stand there and say; Now honey, and what ever other excuse you can dream up, because SHE has the GUN in her hand!

Amen to that one.

I just got the OK from Bud's to buy through their "Law Enforcement" program on the strength of MY card carrying status as a disabilty retired vet so I used it to buy myself a S&W Mp9 for $399. I got the pistol and sent in the rebate form, and am patting myself on the back about the nice pistol at a great overall price of $349. Fabulous, and a nice reliable shooter too.

But guess who else like the pistol..........you guessed it, my wife empties one mag out of it and says "Oh, Now I LIKE this!" and I'm SOL on the gun unless I hurry up and do it all over again for another one.

Dude, every time I buy a gun, I have to buy her something also, or let her buy something for herself with my money. Keep in mind that her item never costs what mine does, but that doesn't matter to her. I also take her out to dinner at a nice place, every time, and that keeps things extremely smooth in our house and my gun collection continues to grow.

Wow. For a bunch of guys who should know how to handle this by now, you really don't. I'll save you all...

Get her a horse. Game. Set. Match.
