I think mine bottom out on the frame?Why not just remove the cylinder and dry fire away?

I do the same, but as I like to draw a bead, the tube is short enough not to block the rear sight at full cock.I just put a little bit of tube between the hammer and the nipple. Seems to be ok and i can test the trigger pull without worry of tearing stuff up.
If im testing a gun at a gun show or something i put my finger between the hammer and the frame in that little curved area and put some pressure on the hammer with my finger so it kinda softens the blow.
Thats kinda what i thought too, i have a couple that have SUPER stiff springs and i dont think ide dry fire it even with the cylinder out if there wasnt anything for the hammer to fall on.Dry firing a Remmy will damage the frame.
