OKC gun show- the last straw

Around here, Claude Hall's so called "gun-shows" are $ 11.00 plus $ 3.00 parking...

It seems that the gun-show loop-holes close the "gun-show-loophole" themselves.

As JMLV said: paying $ 14.00 to shop at Wal-Mart? At least, the ammo and the rifles/shotguns at the Wally-World are VERY much cheaper than at a "gun-toy-beefjerky-jewelery" show.

By the way, what about a tiny hot dog for $ 4.50 + tax?

Our gun show is every third weekend. Free parkling and $5 to get in. It has all the usual stuff plus the usual non-firearms tables as well.

I usually get ammo and mags there. Sometimes I locate a good gun deal. Nothing else, I kill a couple of hours and handle a lot of guns. It also helps me to stay on top of what's out here and what things cost. I also stay on top of things at my favorite gun stores plus the internet. Just trying to be smart and know the value of things. The folks who have tables are ususally helpful and don't mind giving you there opinion. Personally , I like to go.

I would imagine that they go home and complian about all the cheap skates that won't let go of a dollar also.

Sorry. I did spell the name wrong afterall. It's Bo Gritz and he is a former Vietnam veteran who, I believe, led one or more trips into Vietnam after the war looking for POWs. An internet search of his name will allow you to make up your own mind about him.

And what is the deal with the AR's, 2000.00 ! for a decent one. I really want one but do not know what I should be spending for one. I did make some good contacts and will wait until the glitter wears off to call.

Forget those guys Carlos. Give Mark a call at Brigadoon in Midwest City. Better yet, go by his shop (on Air Depot). He's a good guy and will treat you right.

stellarpod (who quit doing Claude Hall shows years ago)

And our best gun show is this weekend and I'm going to go pay another $6, with free parking, and have a great time looking at stuff.

I still can't get over the ammo dealer Saturday with 5 boxes of Wolf Match Target for $3.40 each. Seeing $1.50 ammo going for that was worth a couple of bucks. Saw a nice .338 bench gun built by the gentleman who owns our shooters association and it was only a grand or so. Very nice workmanship.

Doesn't anybody just like going to look at stuff even if you can't afford it?

I almost bought a very old Winchester 52 for a grand just to get the Lyman 15x scope off it.

I can't believe anybody prefers going to Wal-Mart.

Phoenix, AZ gunshow in december was great. I got good deals on AR mags, which was my main reason for going.

There were plenty of non-gun items for sale, but they were dwarfed by the amount of firearms for sale. It was freaking huge.

There was one booth catering to the neo-nazis, the irony of which (nazis at a pro-RKBA event) was probably completely lost on their tiny little brains.

Dadgumit people I cain't eat all that beef jerky by myself.

I bet they could get away with it too!
:D

Like someone else said, I look at gunshows as entertainment. The last one was $6 + $3 parking, $9! It is getting stupid latly. Just a few years ago it was $3 + $1 parking, $4. That was less than 10 years ago and the price has more than doubled! Whatever, I will still pay it as long as I am interested in guns and they continue to be decent.

The ones I go to seem to have very few of the non-gun related tables. I think I remember a big stink raised about them and the event people did something about it:cool: .

I have gotten a good deal at the last four gunshows in a row! That is what keeps me going. Sometimes I sell an item or sometimes I buy one but latly I have been really loving the deals!

Entertainment. The price here in Portland ORegon is ridiculous also. $7.00 admission and $5.00 for parking. BUT WAIT... where else can you get to see the latest in velvet paintings; get your glasses cleaned for free; check out the Beanie Babies; oggle over the cheezy jewelry; see the worlds most expensive assortment of firearms and have an atomic hot dog. (the atomic hot dog will set off your GI tract when you get within 10 meters of the concession) Also, we have a world class of show goers, some with infants in strollers; some with military surplus clothing; some looking like they lost the last Iraqi war.

If you want to shop for guns stay on the internet; if you want entertainment go to the gunshow.
