Brave ladies.

Oklahoma mother-daughter duo shoot shotgun wielding robber in their liquor store - Police said robber could be connected to 10 other robberies.

Unlike the movies, video further illustrates one or multiple shots from a pistol has little effect on stopping an attacker immediately following the gun shots. It's blood loss to the brain that eventually stops an attacker.

Saw this. Maybe the ladies will now go out and buy a Remington 870 TAC14 20 gauge. Or at least a larger caliber handgun. JMO

Good ladies. They’ve got the balls, not going to be beaten into submission.

But one can’t help but think “It should not be Bang! ....... clonk... swish... push... Bang! Should be Bang-Bang-Bang! Bang-Bang-Bang! Or better, Boom! Boom! Boom!”

I wonder if they will get bigger caliber hand guns. For the situation they did not handle themselves badly, they just needed more knockdown power.

I saw that on "Live P D" last night. Good for them! Sadly, apparently the jerk survived.

Shoot to stop the attack, shoot until the attack stops. Same thing, and they failed this to a large degree. They survived, and I am very grateful, and they are lucky. A lesson to all.

There's no such thing as "knockdown power".

See the numerous threads addressing the concept posted withing the last three weeks.

Don't be sad.

It will save the owner of the store from having to defend against a baseless wrongful death lawsuit.

Looked like they were shooting 22 LR pistols. Do you think the guy would have withstood the same shots if they were shooting 38's or 45's? Substitute kinetic energy if you like but a 44 with a moderate load would have knocked him off his feet at that close range.

To me they looked more like .38 Spl revolver and .380 semi-auto pistol.

I wonder if outcome would have been different if ladies were shooting 9mm with decent HP and higher round count.

But for the next 4-5 years (and that may be generous), the taxpayers will have to pay for his room and board, the "college degree" he'll inevitably get behind bars, cable TV, his health care (hope he doesn't need a 250K sex change), and the list goes on. I'd rather he have not survived and be a lesson to another would-be robber.

I somewhat agree that it was probably a J Frame Smith in .38 Sp and a .380 probably a Smith Bodyguard, Ruger LCP or something similar. It's also possible that it could have been a J Frame or one of it's clones, Taurus comes to mind, in .32 S&W Long and a small automatic in .32 ACP. Just saying it's a possibility.

Maybe they had their pocket pistol preferences. That seems to be what women want these days.

It was also apparent that the guy armed with the shotgun didn't want to use it, even after being shot.

The take-a-way. Most armed robbers just want the money and an exit.

I guess he was sort of hacked off that someone would actually shoot him.

That just isn't necessary in an armed robbery. They just didn't understand the street protocol.:D

Maybe he had a rap sheet already and didn't want to add "murder" to the list? Although it did look like he tried to shoot the daughter. "Attempted murder"?

SC

Well! Subsequent invest shows he was connected (?) to 10 other similar crimes. Now he's connected to an IV bottle in one arm, other arm is connected to bed with handcuffs, phone is connected to his attorney...
