Old 20 gauge Wingmaster Barrel Source?

I recently aquired a nice old Remington 870 Wingmaster 20 gauge with 26" bbl. The gun was mfg. in 1954 and back then the 20 gauge gun was made on the 12 gauge frame with a 20 gauge barrel. I would like to purchase a new slug/smooth bore bbl. but cannot locate a source. The newer 870 20 gauge barrels do not fit the "12gauge" frame.

Anyone know of a barrel source for this? Any help much appreciated.

You might try corsonsbarrels.com. I've bought several Browning A5 barrels from them. They do have a wide variety of 870 bbls in 20ga. Not sure if they have what you need--if they don't they may know who will.

they show up on gunbroker and auction arms regularly. Just type in Remington standard 20 gauge.

A set of Briley choke tubes will fix it up.

I don't think there is a one regular source as they have not been made for some time now. Gunbroker, Ebay , and other auctions can turn up a used one from time to time. They are not plentiful , and bring fairly good money. but they are available.
I bought a whole gun (Rem 870 20ga. Std) off Gunbroker just to get the slug barrel, but the seller neglected to mention that the non pictured side had significant pitting. Not all sellers are good ones so ask questions and use caution. So I have a servicable barrel with a clean bore, but some external not so pretty surface. (but that's more babble than you asked for !)

Dennis, if you decide to cut the barrel, which I would not be in favor of, let me know, I have a 28 inch full choke I would trade you for.

I picked up the old wingmaster for $150 so a new/old bbl. will probably cost more than the gun. For now I'll keep it as is and I'll check out e-bay and GB from time to time. The old girl has survived 58 years as is, so I'll keep her in tact. After a good disassembly and cleaning the action is very smooth.
