Just got an old Remington Model 721 from my father. It was his Uncle's and got passed down around 24yrs ago (give or take a year). Was wondering I can find out exactly how old this gun is and what it's worth. My local gunsmith looked it over and said its in excellent condition.
I'm planning on using it for Deer & Antelope and need to get a scope for it. Also need to get to a rifle range to shoot it. In the soft case with the gun were two boxes of ammo (14 rounds each). Both boxes are Remington 150grain Core-Lokt ammo. My dad never shot the gun while he had it and doesnt trust the ammo to shoot it. Is this ammo still good ? I figure the worst that could happen is it doesn't fire.
