My dealer was down to the last old 231 he had left in a metal CAN. I took it home, and poured it, and its dustier than it should be. It does not smell bad.

Would you use it, or take it back, or save it for your final reserve, in case you couldnt get any more when you wanted it later? Lets assume this last thing COULD happen, in the middle of nowhere like I am.

Any idea when they started putting it in plastic containers?

Fine Bushmaster, thanx fer askin...

How You? Is that machinery working ok these days? I watched you have fun in that thread. :)

I'm going to take some of the old stuff out tomorrow and see how it compares to the newer with 45/200 gr plated rounds. One of the things I liked about this powder you sold me on, was how clean it is to handle. So I was disappointed when the old stuff started to dust up my funnel like Bullseye used to. Thanks by the way, you were absolutely right, this is GREAT powder! It meters so well! I dont even know if I will use what I have left of the other kind.

I also noticed this older stuff needed a few extra clicks of the powder mic. So it is slightly lighter per volume. probably because some of the solvents have evaporated away, leaving it drier and dustier.

I may trade it back to the dealer yet.... we'll see.

Other than that I am waiting for (the final) 2 more weeks to pick up a Walther P99QA in 9mm I am really excited about. I got it from CDNN for only about $400. :D I posted in the autoloader section about it. If I get charged for extra registration fees, I will be getting $28 credit for taking this old stuff back. Can you believe you could get charged that much for old 231 anywhere? But I am in the middle of nowhere. :uhoh:
