I recently picked up a 3" SP101 and switched out the stock grips for Pachmayr Compacs - mostly because I prefer the way the Compacs look. I'm not going to conceal-carry the SP101, so I'm thinking I may as well put full-size grips on it, and if I do that, I like the look of the old service grips. Here's a photo I borrowed from dfariswheel that shows what I'm thinking about (these are Colt Python grips):

So far, the only grips I've seen for the SP101 are the boot style (OEM, Eagle, Badger, Hogue). Are big, honking wood grips available for my SP101?

I took another look at the Hogue site and they do offer a bigger grip than the boot style:

The Herrett Detective looks nice, but I'm not sure if it's available for the SP101 - I'll give them a call:

Thanks for the suggestions.

Hogue coco bolo Mono-grip on my custom SP101.

It makes the grip a little longer but NOTHING is more comfortable. Doesn't hag up on your shirt when used for CCW either
