I was given a Hogue Monogrip® for my Ruger SP101. For my small hands the grip is a marvel - small perimeter, side swells at my "sweet spot," finger grooves where my fingers need them to be, et al.

If the grip were available with pinky finger groove omitted and bottom of grip subtly configured like "J" frame boot grip or Ruger LCR OEM [Hogue] grip, it would be ideal for my use.

Okay, to the questions.
- Is Hogue going to make, or announced plans to make such an SP102 boot grip?

- Does anyone alter Hogue Monogrip to such a boot grip configuration - regardless how cheesy the job looks?

- Does any manufacturer offer such a boot grip, paying particular attention to Monogrip's small perimeter? I have handled SP101 boot grip that was acceptable, save the grip's much too large perimeter. I think it might have been a Pachmayr ?

- Excepting their lack of recoil mitigation, a wood or other soild material rendered as such a boot grip would be satisfactory. But I am unsure of the amount of comfort I have shooting with the Monogrip is the result of its ability to soften my perception of recoil. Probably a single-piece solid grip with a rubber palm insert would probably soften sufficiently.

Hogue grips attach to the gun via a stirrup at the bottom of the grip frame. This adds some height to the grip as the stirrup must fit inside the bottom of the grip. If Hogue were to use a grip like on the 4" bbl. Redhawks then perhaps the grip would be shorter.

They also make their 'Bantam' grips for several models; these 'snap' onto the frame, without using the traditional stirrup.

My favorite grip for most guns-

Your photograph of the [competition??] S&W with boot grip seems to be precisely what I have in mind - for SP101, though. It appears to not have physical placement space for pinky.

I am essentially locked out of Hogue's web site. I find it so unintuitive that I am able to find nothing. Is this Bantam grip available for SP101?

I've been looking at the Hogue/Ruger Tamer grip for Ruger LCR. Superficially, that grip is what I would want. If such a grip is not available for SP101, I intend to sit down and try to jury-rig an LCR Tamer to fit SP101. If I must have a hole drilled-and-tapped, that should have no effect on SP101 accepting any other grip. The worst that can happen is that I ruin a Tamer grip. . . . I can live with the guilt.

The Bantam grips do allow for all three fingers on the grip. Searching Hogue's site, it doesn't look like they make the Bantam for the SP101, though-sorry.

IMG_4938.JPG The SP101 uses a grip post rather than a frame and they don't make a bantam grip for it. Hogue makes lots of grips for that gun though. I hate them all.

The Pachmayr diamond pros pictured above are what I'm looking to try.

Actually, the SP101's OEM grip is perfect for my skinny hand/fingers. I can get my pinkie wrapped-around the the grip in the normal manner. To be clear, I do hold very high on revolver grips, to mitigate muzzle flip.

The older Pachmayr design, as shown in sean m's post, feels good in my hand, too, and if I bought a pre-owned SP101 so equipped, might well keep using it.

Like the grips, especially with the fish scale pattern on the wood insert.
