have inherited old custom heavy rifle from late Ketchican, Alaska harbourmaster, needs restoring. any suggestins? gun weighs ii+ lbs. iron sights, shoots good(plastic milk jug @175yds. just luck! ) thanks for looking.

Aren't you lucky. Where you send it to be perked up really depends on how much money you want to spend. That'll depend on how much 'restoration' it needs or you want to have done. And on what action it has. Mind you, if you can hit a milk jug at 175, I think I'd leave it alone. Maybe clean up/refinish the stock and reblue. Rebluing won't be cheap.

thanks for the reply sunray,I removed the bluing myself, yhe gun is in the white, would like to do a complete to original restoration, but don't have any ability to do so myself. the gun has a flip up sight midway on the barrel,a peepsiight@ rear, had a orange buttpad that thru the years was squashed by the weight of gun standing stored vertically. barrel was by krupp, therifle has the makers name engraved, Chris. Suhl I think, engraving very faint. anyway thanks again for the reply,i'll keep looking. sincerly, buntingmiester
