Years (64-71) ago while in the Military I acquired in a trade a LLama .38 Super (or 9M./M. Largo) built on a 1911A1 frame.
This pistol has the following markings on the left side of the frame. GABILONDOY CIA ELGOIBAR (ESPANA).
All numbers match. It came with (2) Colt .38 Super Mags. After a through cleaning and some spring replacements it seems to shoot hardball fine with acceptable patterns. With LLama's JHP rep it will prob. be awhile before I try it.
Does anyone know the approx age of this autoloader? S/N is six numbers ending with 37. I'm guessing mid 1930 to mid to late 1950's. Just a guess?
As aways fellow shooters, thanks in advance for you help.

Michael, does your pistol have the ventilated rib atop the slide? Also, does it have the lanyard ring that was so popular with the Spaniards? If so, I believe you have the Model VIII (8) introduced in 1955....
Also, look in & around your trigger guard...You will find some Letters & #'s. I can give you d.o.b. with that code...
BTW, that is a nice pistol and will handle your JHP's...If not, I'll buy it from you....:D I've owned several Llama's contrary to lack of forum support and found them to be no better or worse than most...
