I just bought a rifle with an FN mauser 98 action and it came with and old Lyman peep sight. I could not find anything about it online. On the sight itself all it says is Lyman and has the number 69 which appears to be the model number. On the mount that it slides into it says Lyman FN and also has the number 69 on it. I found nothing online about a lyman model 69 peep sight. Do you have any info on it or on its approximate age or value?

No idea.

As of 1970 Lyman made two receiver sights for the FN Mauser.

They were marked 48 FN, or 57 FN.

The 48 sold for $17.50.
The 57 sold for $9.50.

There was also a Model 66 receiver sight, but it was not available for the Mauser.
It was for flat receiver sides, like shotguns, lever-actions, etc.

No listing then for a 69 model or size for anything??

Yeah that's all I could find to the sight gun is pre 70s maybe 50s 60s so I would think the sight might be too but I can't find anything and I can't find any other numbers. Do u know of any websites I can check out that might have some info

In 1968 I had a Lyman 48 installed on my new 700 Remmy .243. I think it cost a whopping $50. which, back then was a lot of money to a kid. The rifle new was $129.95 ADL.
