A friend gave me some of his father's old reloading supplies, including 200+ 30-06 cases.

Some of the cases are primed and I'm not sure if I should treat them as corrosive.

The best hint as to age is a label on a box of reloaded 30-06 rounds with a date of 1962. Some of the brass (which I think is WW2 surplus) has "1942" stamped on it, but I think the reloading was done later.

When did non-corrosive primers become standard for consumers?

The brass is all clean and in good shape.

Civilian, Prior to WWII.
Although Winchester still sold corrosive Match primers as late as the 1950's.
As did the DCM to NRA members.

All Military ammo was non-corrosive by 1955.

What I would do is deprime one, lay the primer on a polished steel plate, and pop it with a hammer.

Then leave it be for a few days and see if the plate rusts.
