I have come into an old rifle, marked "Remington Targetmaster Model 41" and
".22 Rem Spec or W. R. F." It is in pretty rough condition but appears shootable.

Anybody with information about this rifle re quality, value, etc?

I've never seen one in that caliber. The ammo is still made by Winchester and CCI on limited runs.

I'm not much of a judge on value. But if the bore and crown are still in good shape, it should be a pretty good shooter.

You can still find WRF ammo. Winchester did a run recently and CCI has some. I prefer the Winchester because it has a lead bullet and not jacketed. I use them out of a WMR for game. They destroy less meat but aren't as accurate. The Remington Special is the same cartride only with a round nose bullet.
