I spotted an old rifle at a yard sale I stopped by this evening. I forgot the exact inscriptions on the barrel but am sitting here stewing. It said "Savage" on the top line and says "Springfield" on the second line as well as 179 or 197. Marked to accept multiple 22 chamberings (I believe it said it took shorts, longs and mags). It is a tube-feeder with a wood stock. It was marked $120 which is why I put it back down. Should I reconsider? Anyone had one?
