I am aware of the CZ-36/45/92, it’s derivatives (Seecamp, NAA Guardians); but what was the *original* DAO hammer fired automatic ? The one that everyone said “Hey… this is cool- I’ve never saw this design before.”

I think NIGHTLORD40K is right about the Little Tom, but the Manufrance "Le Francais" 25 caliber pistol must run it a close second. It dates to about 1914. ( https://unblinkingeye.com/Guns/Francais/francais.html ) The Little Tom seems to be a squinch earlier ( https://unblinkingeye.com/Guns/ATLT/atlt.html ).

Remember these are both European guns, so we are talking about a metric squinch. :)
Except the OP specified hammer-fired. The LeFrancais pistols were striker-fired.

I have a DAO Beretta 96 Centurion .40 S&W. Best factory made DA trigger on an auto I own.

Not truly old school, but not too common either.

That Little Tom is a cool pistol.

Stay safe.

Has anyone heard anything regarding NAA possibly discontinuing the Guardian line ?
