I got to sniffing around my parent's attic this week as I was visiting and found a few old 'toys' from my teenage years and just thought I'd share.

The first two pictures are of my faithful Bingham PPS-50, .22lr that I used to tear around in the woods with. Stupidity and overzealousness resulted in the broken stock and neglect of 16 years in the attic accounts for the rust. My task now is to find replacement parts for her, clean her up and bring her back to life. Just the thing for a winter project.

The other 'rifle' actually isn't; it is a much used and abused rubberized training AK from my old ROTC days wrapped in electrical tape to keep it together and aged with a fine sheen of dust.

There have been a couple of articles on or relating to the PPS-50 in SAR lately. You should look them up, as I recall some tips regarding parts availability. Mine are badly indexed or loaned out, so no way will I be able to find the article now. Sorry.

Sweet!!! I can remember spending whole days in the boonies with my buddies, our .22's and a brik of ammo. I had an Armscor AR-15 knock-off. Life was good then.

The AK looks like a Maadi...

... from about 4,000 years ago! :D ;) :p The .22 looks cool, though. Looks like something that should've never been discontinued. :)
