Guys,

Years ago I got a Dan Wesson CBOB .45 (always wished it as 10mm but that is life.) Dug it out of the safe today.

Question is, the serial number is a P4xxx, no checkering on front or back strap. Novak Trijcon Nigh sights and I swear it must have a 3 lb crisp trigger. Also a spring loaded extractor (not a 1911 tunnel variety.)

It as 'Patriot' on the right side of the slide (looking from the back end) with a little guy in the star circled etching and Dan Wessons name.

Now the question, when was it made?

Here is a photo of:

sounds like you need to dispose of it.. Send it my way, I'll take care of that. :D

Then you can get the 10mm you really want. ;)

Nice gun.

Shot it yesterday..... 25 yards on IDPA target. 7 rounds strait. all head shots. 100 rounds of SWCs and not a jam.

Not as good as my Kimber Gold Match Mk I, yes the old one without the firing pin lock, that gun is a rifle, but good enough.

I only have two 1911s and both don't have any firing pin lock! Strait GI except for the extractor on the DW.

It sounds like one of the early Bobtails. It is a pre-CZ gun. Never heard of one without front strap checkering.
