Came across a tasco 2x 20 scope with Made in Japan printed on it. Great condition, it had lived on a lever action for many years in the scout position. I am pretty sure tasco has been chinese made for quite some time, so wondering about its vintage. Anyone heard of these? I see some references online to a tasco 2x20 pistol scope that existed at one point.

Japanese tasco scopes were a great bang for the buck scope late 90s/early 2000s if memory serves. Are you wanting to use it? Sell it? That kind of optic would be interesting on a PCC or on top of a handgun.

Value would be very low, but assuming it hasn’t been abused and broken then it would be a good scope for a gun like that.
Save yourself the headache and get a Leupold 2X EER.
Paid 90 for a used one w a tiny scratch on the eyebell (underside).

Tasco used to be low priced and usable, til about the early 90s..
Adhesives can decay, O rings dry out, solvents contam etc.
Not being a scope snob, just seen too many fall apart.
