OMG Look at these idiot...

Video didn't work for me :(

Edit: nevermind, had to switch to IE. Yeah, they don't appear to be the brightest bulbs in the marquee.

I can't see what's behind the target. In one shot there appears to be a hill, but in another it looks like the target is on top of the hill and backed by nothing but a few trees and blue sky. They do seem to be pointing firearms at each other rather more than is sane.

Depends. Where were they? You can't really assume that they didn't know what was on the other side of those pines. They definitely needed some eye protection - but it looked like they might have had ear plugs in...at least the one guy. I don't care much for the semi-circle firing line, but not all shooting is on a monitored range....thank God.

Looks like some people having fun. I saw only one instance in the beginning of the guy handling the handgun and his finger wasn't on the trigger. Other than that, they looked like they knew what they were doing mostly.

And why such strong languange? OMG... idiot... This thread is not WORTHY of these two words. Get your nose out of the air.

you got that right phantom

thats what I thought too, they sound like Beavis and Butthead....he said clip....huh huh huh

That stuff is only rated for handguns, if that. It'd have been nice if they tried to see what round did what damage, instead of just blasting it.

So long as there wasn't anything behind the target, all I saw was some kids having fun shooting. Not as safe as I'd like to see, like missing eyes and ears and carrying the guns around instead of putting them down with the action open, but nothing I'd call major.

They may have been experimenting but there was nothing scientific about it.
Blasting holes in s**t just for fun is an end all unto itself. Better they "experiment" with laminated glass etc than with some of the more common chemicals available. And just why is it called "experimenting with drugs"? When was the last time you saw a crackhead or a junkie wearing a white lab coat.

Always one of my personal pet peeves... people shooting at glass and leaving the shards in the forest on on the roadside for the next millennium. But maybe I'm wrong and they cleaned up their mess. :barf:

They just went ahead and emptied everything into it and compromised it's integrity instead of trying individual rounds, but I don't think they were after quasi-scientific results. You could probably pull up a lawnchair with several bricks of .22LR and eventually blast a nice hole into it given enough repetition.

Maybe they sent enough lead downrange to actually utilize those shotgun heat shields.

Phantom,

I thought the same thing, too. Beavis and Butthead go to the range.

I hope they had the maturity to ensure their backstop was safe, and to clean up that mess. Fun is one thing, destroying things with a gun just for the entertainment value is another. Like I said, I hope they were responsible enough with those rifles to make sure they didn't endanger anyone.

I thought they were using shotties and slugs. You could see them in the beginning. I think one was a Saiga 12, and the others looked like pistol grip 12 ga pumps. Maybe I'm mistaken.

B&B Havin' Fun

It appears that their "backstop" is a stand of trees. While there are a few unknowns such as the depth of the stand of trees...distance beyond the trees to the nearest house, highway, place of business,etc...and it's not highly likely that any of the rounds could get through the trees...anything can happen. Murphy lurks everywhere, looking for a situation in which to apply his universal, inescapable law.

In short...No way would I depend on a stand of trees...even a thick stand...that was less than 500 yards in depth to stop and contain that many rifle rounds. Even in the thick brush that makes up the majority of Southeastern Whitetail hunting...a bullet has been known to thread its way through to frightening distances. The chances of one making it through is small. Multiply the odds by the number of rounds fired, and it gets one's attention.

My vote goes along with the Beavis and Butthead observations. This bunch coulda done better.
