Looks like a ROA pimp pistol ....hahaha This is one I have never seen ..nice find BBG

considering the current price of the old army, and the fact that i hunt alone, it's not that bad of a deal.

Can anything be done to return this gun to its' former glory . . . without taking out a second mortgage?

Or must it be burnt at the stake?

buy a can of bake on finish, or get a new cylinder in stainless and high polish it, or get a long mink coat dye it green, some six inch platform shoes and a cigarette extender and call me sugar bear.

Yep that would be sugar bears pistola ....what the heck was Ruger thinking ...I guess maybe they wanted to make one to suit everyones fancy ....I could carry it in the woods and when I run into a rabbit I could say ...hey rabbit you want to work for me ?

....what the heck was Ruger thinking ...

It would take a heap of convincing to make me believe that Ruger had a hand in that one. I suspect that someone neglected the thing, then tried to cover up the damage with a homebrew plating job. Looks to be inspired by something in the Cabela's catalog.

Gotta agree with whosyrdaddy,
No way that Ruger had a hand or anything else in that one. It looks like some knucklehead mistook a grinding wheel for the polishing wheel.
It should come with a leopard skin shoulder holster and matching leopard skin cowboy/pimp hat. Ahh..might as well throw in a pair o' leopard skin boots.

The seller had to relist it ...no bites ...I guess pimps don`t buy guns on gunbroker ...maybe he could sell it behind the bowling alley .

The barrel is probably suitable for these projectiles:

It's all about the price.
If it only cost $50 then everyone would jump on it to rebuild it or use it for a Clement's Custom .50. :D
