You also failed to add that the suspect was not revived by the paramedics when they showed up. The article explained what looks to be a good Lawman self defence shoot.

Well, they sorta shot it out of his hand, but since his hand was right in front of his torso.........

There was one of those a few years back, with a guy in a parking lot in a lawn chair (I have no idea why) with a pistol. Sniper hit the frame of his gun and it came apart, he looked at it stupidly, what was left of it, and cops ran up and tackled him.

Of course, I believe it was a SWAT sniper positioned with a scoped rifle, so that's a bit different. :D

It was a Columbus (Ohio) SWAT officer with a precision rifle. He watched the guy for about 40 minutes and had his mannerisms down before being told to take the shot.

The decision to shoot in that instance is still somewhat controversial.
