ok sorry to beat this dead horse..but can you use a bore cleaner to clean ther other parts to? or is it just for the barrel?

what i have as far as cleaning stuff are:

Birchwood Casey
-Bore Scrubber spray that is
-Gun Scrubber cleaner/degreaser
-Sheath lube/rust protectant

i went with this since it was in a shrink wrap packet all large cans for $18..i figured this is all i need and its simple, 3 products. With all the stuff out it sometimes gets confusing as in the stuff like Break Free and other stuff looks like i could use for the bore cleaning and general cleaning so I could kill two birds with one product, and just have something for rust and lube, but i dont know. Am I some what close on this? I just dont want to have a bunch of different products lying around and them basically all doing the exact same things ya know.

After cleaning the barrel with it? There may still be some dirt on it to add onto other parts. But a brush is a brush right? I'd use a clean toothbrush.

I currently use M-Pro7 for solvent and Hoppes #9 for lubrication.

For a handgun I would only use bore cleaner on the barrel piece, meaning inside of the bore and the exterior of the part. Do not use bore cleaner to clean any other parts of the gun, I have heard certain solvents can strip blueing from a gun. Also, the bore solvent/cleaner can creep into parts where you may not beable to fully dry/lubricate. Which in turn causes corrosion. So for other parts of the gun use minimal amounts of oil to loosen up dirty areas.

All bore cleaners do the same thing, as do all gun lubricants. How effective each one is, is what differs. So use up what products you do have, it won't take long. :) Depending on what kind of ammo you shoot a copper/lead remover may be necessary, I have yet to run into this problem.

Here's a list of what I currently use for cleaning:
Cleaning Rod
Bronze Bore Brush
Patch Puller
Hoppe's 9 Solvent
Hoppe's 9 Gun Oil
Patches
New tooth brush

I recently just ordered:
Jag(will replace the patch puller)
M-Pro 7 solvent

I have heard great things about M-Pro 7 solvent, it's supposively the same thing as Hoppe's 9 Elite. Jags cover more surface area in the barrel, plus it causes you to not pull the dirty patch back through the barrel.

These are just the cleaning products I use, everybody has their preferences. Too little oil is always better than too much. Here's a link to MidwayUSA where I buy most of my cleaning products. http://www.midwayusa.com/

I have tried just about every CLP there is and recently tried "Gunzilla".

Gunzilla blows every other CLP I have ever used away.

This stuff is unbelievable and yes it cleans the bore too. As a matter of fact, I have not even had to use a bronze bore brush since I started using it.

You will not believe how easy it is to clean the breach face, feed ramp and everything else with it.

It has very little odor and what you do smell is not unpleasant.

The lubricant it leaves will not attract lint or dirt either!
