In the Hindsight piece, page 15, 10 July issue of Gun Week (www.gunweek.com) we are treated to references to the possible "down side", or PC problems with our forces using Israeli produced small arms ammunition. Seems that last December, the government contracted with IMI, for 70 million dollars worth of "small caliber ammunition", Winchester Ammunition Div, East Alton, IL got a contract too, and the possibility that the Israeli produced ammunition might be used in Middle East Operations, where our guys are be shooting back at Muslims, who had fired first, is troubling to some, or so it seems. U.S. Representatives Curt Weldon (R-PA) and Neil Abercrombie (D-HI) are mentioned.
One is hard put to see exactly what the source of the "problem" might be, ass kissing aside, after all, the Israelis, like Muslims don't eat pork, and the projectiles aren't lubricated with lard, as was claimed regarding ammunition supplied to some native troops in India during the 19th century, a circumstance that supposedly led to, or at least contributed to The Sepoy Mutiny.
Just possibly, Mr. Tartaro's opening observation, about it being "a mad, mad, mad world ..." contains a whole lot more truth than humor, who knows?
