    IIRC, it still has no co-sponsors - McCarthy is tilting at windmills.

    So, like one of our colleagues did, write your congresscritter, even if they are a hard-core Democrat, and remind them of how gun control has been costing them elections lately, and that you would really appreciate it if this ill-conceived piece of legislation never makes it out of committee. After all, this may not overly concern _her_ New York constituency, but it's gonna irritate the heck out of people from (name your state) when they find out that she's trying to take away their hunting rifles.

    Do not get technical.

    Do not get irate.

    Be polite.

    And stick to the POINT. Which is...

    Gun control cost "us" (it's okay to write to 'em like you're democratic faithful, you know?) the past few elections, so let's see if we can just squash this?
