Oops!! .44-40

Hello everyone, I bought some .44-40 lead cast bullets instead of .44 cal bullets, will they still work for reloading .44 special/mag thanks.

Measure the bullets, if they are 0.430" or so in diameter, they will work just fine.

But, the alloy may be too soft to drive them at 44 magnum velocities though.

It depends. If they're .427"-.428" diameter as the traditional .44-40s are, then you probably won't be happy loading them in a modern .44 Spc/Mag.

If they're "modern" .44-40 and actually measure more like .430"-.431"? They're fine.
