Oops I dropped an unsized case into my sized bin

What should I do?

  • Resize them all again to be sure

  • Load and shoot, it will probably be fine

  • Load and shoot until one gets stuck

  • Give up and shoot your Mosin

The one with the primer still in it was my first thought.

The one that doesn't fit the case gauge was #2.

The one that doesn't require any trimming could be a sign.

It would be lottery type odds but still possible, its the one spilling powder without a bullet in the finished round bin...:)

With what you have and not buying a case gauge, load them all up and "press check" them afterwards. If the bullet doesn't set back, you are good to go.

Weird, I was sizing brass from my old bushmaster and the case mouths are huge prior to sizing. You could toss bullets in the mouth like the carnival game to land a quarter on a plate to win the big stuffed bear. My mixed range pickup had enough case mouth dings to make this tougher.

I’m really glad the Giraud trimmer won’t trim an unsized case!
