I am in the market for a new .22lr pistol and the Beretta has caught my eye. I would like to know, from those who have owned or shot one, your opinion of the gun. Good, bad, indifferent, ... let me know. My father has a Ruger Mark II, so rather than double up guns (we shoot together a lot) I want to go in a different direction. It is my understanding that the barrels on the Neos are interchangable, meaning I can buy the six inch barrel and easily interchange it with the stock barrel if I wanted to. I am also curious if any one has handled the Neos carbine conversion, and how much was the cost?

Thanks.

i really enjoy mine.

beretta has alot of pieces parts you can adjust on it - the different barrel lengths that you mentioned, colored grip panels, colored slides, and i'm probably forgetting some others. check out berretausa.com.

it's really easy to field strip and clean. almost glock easy. plus the barrels have an integrated weaver rail. i put on a cheap reddot scope.

people have mentioned the trigger is heavy, but i haven't noticed it. you may however, so can you try one before purchasing?

i want to mention the neos styling - i like it :) i call it my star wars gun and it's been great introducing non-shooters because it's appearence is so zoomy and non-threatening.

I had only two complaints with that gun: poopy trigger( it was a bit heavy but nothing that couldn't be handled) and I just couldn't get a good grip on it, the grip angle is weird or something which is strange because I have small hands. But the gun is very accurate and has enough "stuff" to add on to keep me occupied for a while.

I love mine as well. I just put my 2 cents in another threas so I wont bother repeating it.

I have heard the same two major complaints, the trigger and the grip angle. Can't disagree more. It justs feels fine to me.

I love mine, It's a six inch model.
The trigger was never heavy, and after putting about 1250 rds. through it... That trigger is Buttah! :D Just so You know, it got that way after 600-700 rds.. From there on, it seems to get better and better.
It's very accurate, a snap to strip and clean. But I wished the feed ramp was a little beefier. And the rear of the barrel/upper when broken down(is that the right term for it?) has a piece of steel that is somewhat sharp. Punctured My thumb on that one. Ow. I'm happy with the grip size and angle, but it's not for everyone.

Ammo wise, it sometimes chokes on really cheap rounds from Federal. I had a bulk box lying around and figured: "why not?". I don't use it anymore. With other brands there has been no problem. Normally, I use Remington standard velocity target loads. The Neos has been flawless with it. But Your results May vary.
Besides that... It's affordable and has a nice amount of upgrades available.
I'm very happy that I purchased it.

I too have the 6" model (as does one of my sons)...terrific gun...very accurate..add a cheap red dot and you are a range plinking God.

What clinched the deal for me was the ease of cleaning.

Bought my son one for graduation last spring. Gotta say I like it as much as my 22/45.
There's a fix for the trigger and it works great. Do a search of the Beretta fourm at www.rimfirecentral.com

Rent one at a range before you buy I rented one at a range. Safety digs into your hand when on. Maybe made that way on purpose. The grip angle was way too steep for me. Other than that, it was okay, but I prefer my Buckmark.
