Any opinion on Maserin knives? Been eyeballing this one...
AUS8, carbon fiber scales, no pocket clip. 3" blade. Use would just be gentleman folder stuff...occasional light cutting and something new to have and add to the meager collection.

Are you certain there's no pocket clip? The European sites show a deep pocket clip.

I agree with Sam Cade that the price seems excessive for the blade steel in spite of the carbon fiber body.

Timberline makes a ceramic blade carbon fiber handle knife for half that price (assuming ceramic blades are acceptable to you) that I've handled and been very impressed by. http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/TM...tern-Mirror-Polish-Blade-Carbon-Fiber-Handles

Thanks fellas. You're right, I've got a couple cheap Taiwan knives with AUS8 blades. I guess I got caught up in the whole Italian styling thing there for a moment! The Timberline looks interesting. I have zero experience with ceramic so I might look into it. Thanks again for saving me some $$ on an impulse buy.

I'm not familiar with that brand, but AUS-8 at those prices isn't unheard of. Al Mar makes somewhat pricey gentleman's folders with that steel, and they have some nice stuff. Cold Steel also uses AUS-8.
