Came across Savage Model 220A single shot sg.Get this. It's a 28 ga.Never seen one before.Fellow at local sporting goods store hasn't either.Outward appearance 80%.Bbl has some pitting.Very little and very small. It's either pitting or needs cleaning.I can get it for $150.Opinions?

According to the blue book if it's as you say 80% condition then pricing is any where from 35-$65.00.
Frankly I dont necessarily always agree with what the book says and from what I have seen at auctions and gun shows others dont either.
Still,$150.00 is a lot for what it is.

Yeah sounds expensive, but to each his own. I've bought 12ga single shot toppers for between $30 to $60 used. Nice little project guns and very simple to use.

Hard to find regardless of book price. You will make money on it at $150.00 if you so choose!

Buy it!
28 guage are rare birds and wonderful shooters on the upland fields.
28 guage shells are a bit pricey but how many do you need to hunt with?

I bought a NEF Pardner SB1 28 ga barrel to fit to my .410 receiver, just about 2 years ago - paid 75 bucks just for the barrel - 28s are not all that common. If the condition warrants the price - buy it, shoot it, enjoy.
