Opinions Ka-Bar USMC Short Knife

Any opinions on the Ka-Bar USMC short knife as a general purpose camp and utility knife? I see how people love the regular size knife, but often say it's too big. It the short just as good only smaller, or is it just a look alike?

It will weigh less, and be easier to carry and pack, but not chop as well (but you have other tools for that, right?).
