Okay, my payday is saturday, and i'm going to buy a new (used) carry gun. Pretty much I've got it down to 2 choices, I just cant make up my mind about which one I want, which one would you buy?

My final 2 choices are 1)Taurus Millenium compact 9MM for $215, 2)Feg pa63 in .380, for $215

the power of 380 vs. 9mm isnt the question here, i'm just wondering about concealability, and reliability

Over Christmas this last year I ended up buying two Taurus Millenium Pro's, one for myself and one for my son's girlfriend. Both have been great guns and are very nice carry guns. I don't carry mine that much...primarily when I go to the beach or a formal event in which I don't want to be incumbered with a larger gun.

The thing I DO like about the Taurus is it's about the safest gun out there with all the safety features useful for being a "first" gun for someone or a "first carry gun." DA only, safety switch, loaded cartridge indicator, key lock...pretty much a complete set of safety features.

All things being equal, and money being an issue (which appears to be the case), go with the 9mm. Even if you set aside any discussion about the effectiveness about calibers, the 9mm still wins on a cost standpoint. Practice ammo is 30-50 percent cheaper for 9mm versus .380, which will allow you to practice more and become more proficient. Remember, shot placement will be more important than caliber should you ever need your gun for self defense.
