Does anybody know anything about the #4 mk1 Enfields being sold by Centerfire Systems? $139 seems like a pretty good deal, but I have no idea where these rifles come from, or how old they are.
Not hijacking the thread or anything.... But, what exactly are the micrometer sites? The sites that flip up and have the adjustment knobs on for windage and adjustment on it? Or is it it the peep site that adjusts? I'm kinda in the dark about this. Thanks!
I'm not really sure where they came from, but I think I heard Greece.
As far as the micro sights go, I saw a pic of them and the looked a lot more adjustable than the standard military peep, but I guess I won't know for sure for a few weeks......
No.4 Mark 1 and 2 micrometer sights are elevation adjustable only... and that only on a range scale. The "zero" method of windage and elevation adjustment is to drift or replace the front sight blade.
Some of the No.4 Mark 1 rifles have 2 position 300 and 600 meter apertures, rather then the ladder.
They are indeed Turkish issues, condition is all over the map according to the folks at AIM. Expect that these have been carried alot, shot a little.
If there was a country that wasn't kind to it's rifles, I'd put Turkey up there on the top of the list, but even so an Enfield for under $150 is a good thing and may be a fine shooter!
