Opinions on the CZ 527 American??

I am thinking of getting a CZ 527 American in either .223 or .204 ruger. Any opinions out there on this gun/ caliber choices. Would be a coyote gun more than anything.

i've got the 223. First time out with a box of the cheap win white box bulk pack ammo I shot three groups in a row in the 1/2" range--two just under and one just over. As far as 223 vs 204, the obvious thing being the price and availability of 223's vs the cool factor of the 204--friends I know who have used it or seen it in action all oo-ed and ahh-ed I originally wanted the 204, but at the time none were available and they couldn't say when they would be, and the 223 was in stock. Nice wood, too, btw.

Not to be confrontational, but I've never seen the point of .204 Ruger when there are several calibers that do what it does as well, if not better. 22-250, .223, .220 Swift to name a few. It strikes me as a "niche" cartridge.

I have the 527 Varmint Laminate in .223 and have been VERY happy with it. A really nice rifle.
