most will say they are no good. i have a two tone that i got used about 2 years ago. mine is 100%. magazine springs caused alot of the issues people had with these guns. i replaced all of mine with wolff magazine springs. i tested the gun before i bought it and before the spring change. i fired 100 rounds of mixed ammo without any malfunctions. below is a picture of it, i have since put the factory grips back on.

I own one. Actually, I'm trading it this weekend but for now I own one. I've heard many bad things. I've yet to see any of these bad things. I replaced mag springs and recoil spring at the 2k mark since I was unsure how many rounds had been fired before I bought it. For me, it has been reliable and amazingly accurate for such a short barreled gun. Shoots pleasantly, too. The weight of it soaks up the recoil and it is actually more pleasant shooting than my full size alloy framed Kimber. With added rosewood grips, the p12 is a fat little beast, but not too fat.

Keep it cleaned, lubed and change the springs regularly. $15 in parts is cheap peace of mind. That's keep mine running with no failures. A buddy of mine has a warthawg, which I kind of view as the p12 spiritual successor. It also runs flawlessly.

While I've seen many bad things said of Para on forums, and many great things (true of any manufacturer, right?)...all of the ones belonging to personal acquaintances have ran fine. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Para, p12 or otherwise....except that LDA stuff, I just don't care for it. Plus they're NC based like me, so I'm supporting my local economy.:D

My 1995ish era P13.45 was reliable as all hell out of the box. Zero jams in the 1500 or so rds I was lucky enough to put through her before selling.

Selling it still stings to this day. I loved that thing. Still haven't forgiven myself for it.

I had one briefly back in the late 90s, but it was in a timeframe that I didn't have the time or money to shoot it very much. I liked it fine and I don't recall any problems with it, but it's the only commander-length 1911 I've ever had.

It was quite some time ago (1999), but I had one that was essentially a single-shot. Even worse, poor fitting between the grip safety and frame chewed a hole in my hand. I traded it in (at a loss) for a Glock 30, which, while bulky and ugly, at least would function.

I think I will keep it for awhile as it has not been shot. I'll fire it until it won't feed or begins to fail somehow. If it can run 500 rounds with no failures its a keeper!

If not I'll trade it to some para lovers I know.

Yeah, I have a Carry-12 - it's my preferred CCW gun. Obviously, I trust it. I also own 3 14-.45s (one them top-of-the-line target model). All good guns for me.

I really like my (wife's) P12.
See was really mad when she used it and found she could shoot it much more accurately than her duty G17.
I much prefer 185gr bullets from the P12 -likewise the P14's here get 200-230's depending on the powder charge.
The 185 gr bullets (Nosler custom comp hollow point ) with 9.0 gr Power Pistol and a Win primer work very nice.

I had one that was flawless. I would still have it but I bought it from a friend and gave him the option to buy it back when he got the money. Unfortunately for me, he got the money to buy it back about 6 months ago.
