I am looking at getting a Sig P229 Equinox - anyone have any opinions on this gun? I can't find one around here - so I might have to order it blind. Love some help!!

Too much. If I recall, almost 900 smackers up here. Someone at SIG must've been looking at a Kimber Eclipse or Springfield Black Stainless one day for far too long ... Don't need a rail on a pistol like that, either.

Nice grips, though.

If I didn't already have two P229's I'd pick it up in a heart-beat. It's from SIG's custom shop and is about as good as a pistol can get. As with most SIGs you can buy drop in .40S&W and .357SIG barrels and shoot both calibers using the same magazine. Sure it's $900, but you get every penny's worth of it in quality. Being a limit run, it will do nothing but go up in value over the years.

I have no idea if this applies to the Equinox --

I have a Kimber Eclipse, same concept cosmetically. The black portion of the finish wears VERY easily.

So before buying, I would recommend that you check this out, expecially if the gun is going to be used a lot, such as for Concealed Carry.

OH -- Forgot to add, the Sig 229 is one of the best pistols out there -- my only reservation would be the finish on this one!

I saw one of these for the first time at SHOT. They are beautiful. I don't say that about many modern guns, but these were actually pretty.

Hi All-

I wish SIGARMS would make those black wooden grips (or a similar version) available for purchase so that I could upgrade my P229.
