Thanks!! I'm taking it to the range Tuesday night to put a few rounds through it...can't wait!!!

Can't go wrong with a Single Six.

I wanted to get my kids a SA .22 revolver for Christmas and bought a used Heritage Rough Rider. Had nothing but problems with it and eventually returned it to the store, got a full refund and bought a new Single Six. It cost me over twice what the Rough Rider cost but I don't regret it one bit. What I regret was wasting my time buying the Rough Rider in the first place. There's no comparison between the two, the Ruger is of such higher quality.

"I was just given my grandfathers single six. It was mfg'd in 74 or 76."

Ouch, I was feeling pretty good this morning until I read that, now I feel old. I bought mine in '72.

Didn't they refer to the Single Six as the fixed sight version and the Super Single Six as the adjustable sight version until recently? My beautiful 50th anniversary model, with that neat cocobolo grips, was horribly off - I got rid of it because of that. If it had been an adjustable sight version... it'd still be here - it was fun. Actually, they are a lot of fun. Oddly, with my menagerie of revolvers in a bunch of calibers, my only .22LR is a Ruger MKII - my only 'evil-bottom-feeder'. Now something else to lust after... an adjustable sighted SS Single Six ... or Super Single Six?

Congrats, ROBSTOY!

Well the guy at the gun shop told me that my gun was a "Super Six". From what I've read, the "Super Six" is the one with the adjustable sight (mine has the adjustable sight).

I have the 50th Year Single-Six. 4-5/8" or so barrel, fixed sights. Still WAAAAAYYY UP on the "Fun Gun list". Right next to the MKII, and the 10/22.

Yeah, I'm a Ruger guy....Single-Six, MKII, 10/22, Vaquero and 50th Year Blackhawk. :D:D

My favorite Ruger was my "3-Screw Old Model" .357Mag that got stolen many years ago. Cried like a baby for 2 weeks after that happened. :banghead::mad:

OK. Just had to add mine. Currently have three in the safe. Two are the old three screw models with fixed sights, and one newer model with adjustable sights. All three have the magnum cylender. And all three are a joy to shoot. They just feel right.
Have to agree with earlier comment. They are like a 1911. Everyone should own at least one of each. I know I do.
