Seller calls this chrome finish. Some people say chrome when they mean nickel and some guns are crudely refinished in chrome. Does this look like a nickel 39 or does it look like a cheap, crappy refinish?
I does seem like it has been re-nickled on the cheap!!
It sure don't look like any hard chrome finish I've seen!!!
I'm sure Virgil Tripp would not let anything looking like that out of his shop!!!
Feel the roll marks. If there is no raised metal then it has been re-finished. The blasting or sanding before the new finish is applied takes down the metal raised when it's "rolled".
I can't feel the rollmarks. All I have is photos at this point since seller is in another state. I can't tell much by looking at pics so I wanted some other opinions. I thought it looked like a cheap finish but wanted confirmation. Asking price is $200 but I will pass.
As for the Glocks, let me just say that I am very happy for you that you like these guns.
I would want to see some better pictures. S&W nickel plated 39's were very well polished, but is that pitting on the left side of the trigger? If so, how is the trigger in such bad shape, stock screws look beaten and the slots appear rusty, stocks are dinged, but the plating is ultra smooth? $200? Only model 39's I have seen for $200 were ridden very hard and put away wet.
