I have recently received mailings from Citizen's Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms and the 2nd Amendment Foundation. Unbiased opinions and/or info on these organizations would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for input.

I'm not familiar with either one. But I recommend joining the NRA first (even if you don't agree with all of their positions) because they're the proverbial 800lb gorilla who is in the best position to resist new gun control laws. Then look at joining other gun rights groups as you please. Too many folks seem to believe that you're only allowed to join one group and they waste a great deal of time and energy arguing why this group or that group is better than all the rest.

I am a member of the CCRKBA but I will tell you, Alan is not the "type" of person you would stereotype as being pro-gun.

He looks like a whipped man (hen-pecked) with a bow tie and glasses. You know, that weak man who is owned by his wife and is afraid to hurt a fly.

But when you hear him speak and meet him, he's one firery little guy. His passion for the 2nd towers above all the tallest men I have ever met.

I am also a NRA life member (instead of complaining that they don't do enough, join so you can vote and even take office), JPFO, SAF and the state's grass roots.

Sure, it's alot of money over the long run, but what are your gun rights worth to you? A few bucks a year or nothing at all? Just my humble opinion.

I've been a member of SAF and CCRKBA for many years. I also belong to and support GOA and am active in grassroots movements.

If I want muscle on the national front (DC) I go to NRA. If I want solid, logically presented facts I go to GOA and SAF. If I want action NOW and a pit bull beside me, I call Allen.

Good organization.

See my sig line.

It's overused for sure, but "Freedom isn't free" definitely applies. Money now, or much worse later on. Easy choice really.
